Yea, as the title suggests.. I find Science a very amazing subject. To me, Scientists are by far the smartest people of all profession-- in terms of IQ. If you don't believe, look around and think about it.. Most or all of our WHYs can only be answered with Science and nothing else. Can you use Math to tell me how does a woman get pregnant? No, you definitely can't. If you can, you're more than just a genius.
Sometimes I ask myself, what would happen if I become a Scientist? Haha, I think I'll just die with no regrets seriously. Although my intelligence is incomparable to that of a Scientist, I have the same kind of mindset a typical Scientist possesses. The key characteristic of a Scientist is to be determined in finding out the source of all happenings. And the satisfaction of being able to explain why something happened is simply beyond imagination...! I have always associated my ambitions with anything Science related. For eg. Veterinarian, Psychologist, Animal Behaviorist, Neurologist, Biologist, Zoologist, CID.. to name a few. Ok, in short - I love Science.
My recent research is on Dreams as I have been having weird and scary dreams, and I get that a lot. Amazing enough, I was really fascinated by all my search results=)
They make much sense because they are all TRUE. Very true. Here to share a few. I had a very strange dream one or two weeks ago. In my dream, I kept seeing HDB flats and other buildings collapsing and the frightening part is I was on the flat itself.. Additionally, they are no ordinary building because they are at least 100levels tall. I see myself in a lift going high up to the highest level, very very speedily and once it reaches the peak, everything just went "TOMPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!" it falls.. The feeling is very very scary and tense and it keeps repeating itself. I don't just see the building fall, I fall with it! The strangest of all, I don't die after all the collapsing. After about 5 to 6 times I experienced the "fall", I was in a shopping mall with my mom, I think it was Junction8 or sth.. I walked past Best Denki and I saw this big plasma tv fall from the tv rack and "bwwang!!!" it broke. The sound was really loud! It was so scary.. and after that, I experienced building falls again..... :< here is what I found about my dream...
To dream that a building collapses, indicates that you are losing sight of your ambitions and goals. Your pursuit for material gains is failing.
VERY TRUE. It actually matches with my present life. My eyes almost bulged out when I saw that...Another thing is I have been experiencing this Paralyzed feeling when I was half awake. It feels like you're actually conscious but you can't move at all, sometimes you can't even open your eyes, you're completely frozen and no voice comes out no matter how hard you try to shout. Your chest feels tight and you are out of breath. You see something beside you, sometimes making noises but you just can't move! There's once when I slept with my back facing upwards and my face facing my pillow. With that sleeping position, I got paralyzed and I couldn't move a muscle, I wanted to move my head at least to the side but I couldn't.. my head was forced onto the pillow and I was suffocating.. It was really terrible and awful, I thought I was going to die, somehow... Really scary! But being someone who is so strong willed, I had always tried to break open the force by moving my hands or legs with all my might or try to open my eyes so that I could gain full consciousness. It usually gets very painful if you try fighting yourself out of the frozen body but I managed to snap out of it! (none of my family can do that! because it's really difficult to control yourself at that kind of situation)
For the past two days, I experienced it again! And know what? After I woke up from this paralysis, I went back to sleep and it came back again.. and this cycle repeated for a few times. (Waking up and going back to sleep, then finding myself paralyzed, again and again). Scary!
My research have shown that everyone experience this at least once or twice in their life and it's pretty normal for that to happen. But most people just have it at the most twice and it never comes back again.. but why? why does it happen to me so often? ever since I was a kid.. i also found out that we may die from it:|

A person may wake up and find himself unable to move or speak as if he is frozen. He also may hear footsteps, see a ghost-like creature, or feel someone sitting on his chest. Throughout the history, people considered this phenomenon as work done by evil spirits. However, the modern science can explain the terrifying event as a Sleep Paralysis.
A Sleep Paralysis is possibly a hereditary disorder in which one experiences very frightening seconds or minutes of total body paralysis with little respiration and eye movements (1). A victim in this state feels awake, but he cannot move or speak (2). In addition to the immobility, the common symptoms include feeling choked or suffocated, hearing strange noises like footsteps and voices, seeing beings or dark shadows, and feeling an existance of someone in the room (1). Although these symptoms often direct the victims to believe in ghosts, mistransmission of neural signals in the brain causes Sleep Paralysis. When a person sleeps, his brain sends signals to inhibit any muscle contraction (3). If he comes into consciousness before the brain sends signals to activate muscle contraction, he cannot move his body, and consequently, become "paralyzed"(2).
This is horrifying.
P/S: Usually people see "Monsters" or "Ghost" sitting on their chest but I don't. I only see figures beside my bed. And they're usually my mom or my dad. Not somebody I'm afraid of. It is said that you only see Monsters when you panic, which means I didn't panic when Sleep Paralysis occurs. Haha. I'm so brave, I think I only concentrated on getting my body to move again. Or maybe I'm just very used to it since it happens a lot and I know very well it's explainable with Science, not ghosts or evil spirits -- like most people believe.. (stupid.. haha)
Science helped explained why some of us experience Sleep Paralysis when we sleep.. You can do your own research if you want to know more.. Without Science, we would never get to know the cause of a certain issue.
I have been thinking about this all day and night. I'm contemplating to get either one of the above. For dogs, I intend to get one of these:
1) Maltese
2) Bichon Frise
3) Japanese Spitz
4) Pomeranian (one that's fluffy!)
Actually my priority was given to a Coton de tulear but too bad, I will have to import one from overseas if I really want it. It was believed that somewhere in the early 90s, some breeder came over to Sg and bred 5 cotons here. The dogs are said to be very old or even dead now. How I wish I was one of the lucky person who got a coton from them back then!:B

Went to the dog farm at Pasir Ris Farmway with mom to look around.. It wasn't really fruitful as I didn't see a maltese I really like. Their Jap Spitz was like almost 3k!?!! so it's impossible for me to get one at that price.. There were also some other dogs which I have never considered keeping and some which are not hdb approved. Too bad I live in a flat. Haha. But i'm super contented with a toy breed!:] And after a long day search, my mom's pick was.....

HA HA HA. Besides the toy poodle, she also has a recent interest in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel ever since our visit to Nex's Pet Safari. :)
But then again.. I might not be getting any dogs cos my mom wants me to have guinea pigs instead. She finds a dog too much of a responsibility for me (due to the uncertain financial flow at home) Plus the condition of our house may not be quite suitable for a dog. Moreover, I haven't got everyone's consent. Actually just my dad.. well everyone in the family loves animals except that my father has an impression that pets carry gobs of hidden germs all over their body.. seriously, I don't know where he gets that knowledge from.. he even thinks that fleas and ticks are commonly found on pets' bodies.. He's stupid enough to believe all that nonsense and he never tries to understand when I say that only happens to a stray mutt which doesn't have any source of help to get their fur washed and dematted..
In any case, I am happy to have ownership over any of the pets. So if I'm getting guinea pigs, I'll be getting a pair. A male and a female and I would breed them:) I know it's not a good start for an inexperienced GP handler but well.. We always have to take the first step to everything and I believe by following the guide closely, I won't have problems taking care of my cute piggies!:)

P/S: I forgot to mention that I saw two stray dogs roaming helplessly back at the dog farm. One was a lakeland terrier and the other a daschund. They were both wandering about the bushes that were full of trash, as if looking for food. I felt sorry for them and signal them to come over as I wanted to take a closer look at how badly kept they were. (the daschund looked fine.. the lakelend terrier a bit messed up and dirty). They were so happy to see me signaling to them, thinking I was able to provide some food. When they were dashing forward, my mom got scared and ran(walked very quickly) away.. I didn't have any food with me so I had to leave them alone and after we went off, they left as well.
I can't believe there are still so many stray dogs in Sg. Last Saturday, I went to IMM taking train. On the journey back home, I saw 6 dogs running around freely on a field when the train was passing by kranji area. I hope they have a source of food to depend on. Because i would rather them to be left alone there than to see them going to shelters and being put to sleep.. they looked happy though. But if I had a rescue team, I would rescue them and keep them for myself. At least we have one less worry that some sickening abusers might just pop by and do sth to hurt them.. I pray for their health and safety.

Just completed watching this 10 episode series.. I was so glad it didn't turn out to be one of those typical Korean drama. Haha. Do watch it if you have the time, it's only 10episodes anyway.. sweet & short. You can't even ask for more.. I like it how they are so quick and decisive.. unlike those draggy dramas.. waste so much of our time only to find out that the outcome is expected.. it's amusing how those kind of script used to get our attention.. but anyhow, it no longer works today!

forgot to share this two hk tvb series with everyone. I just bought Moonlight Resonance & The Ultimate Crime Fighter 1 to 2 weeks ago. Ok, both are old series I know. The sole purpose of buying them is to watch my favorite Ah Mo! Haha. I strongly recommend TUFC cos it's really good. Firstly, great casts. Secondly, the script is totally unexpected, very unique. & Most importantly, it features Ah Mo a lot! Still the same old saying, Moses is Awesome!!! Hahaha.
In comparison, MR has a heavier storyline. It makes you really engrossed with the script and the acting but it also makes you teary at the same time. Not too bad for a daily family drama, in fact it's good! But I sort of prefer TUFC cos it's about detection and tracking down criminals which is one of my favorite tv genre! Love it especially when Moses is the Sir(Police Officer). Ha Ha Ha! Ok, not to mention.. there's also veteran kungfu actor Yuen Biao, I like him too!!!!! My next favorite tvb actor would be him he he he:> Gigi Lai as the female lead, and Yoyo Mung as female supporting role. All beaus & beauties
